About the Founder

Mr. Jagdish Chander Gilani
(1934 – 1994)
Shri Jagdish Chander Gilani, the founder of Associated Management Consultants Private Limited and Indian Journal of Marketing, was a person with a lot of innovative ideas. An educationalist and a visionary, who envisaged the need for imparting quality research in the field of Marketing in India, Mr. Gilani started Indian Journal of Marketing in 1968, which is the oldest, the most reputed, and the only monthly Journal of Marketing in India.
An alumnus of Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, he completed his M.A. (English Literature) and M.B.A by
dint of hard work. An accomplished author, an eloquent orator, and a collaborative researcher and editor, Mr. Gilani had more than three decades of experience as a Management Consultant in India, USA, Canada, England, and France. He conducted Management Development Programmes (MDPs) in India for Senior, Middle and First Line Management Personnel. Mr. Gilani was actively engaged in leadership tasks that corresponded with the breadth of his vision and energy. As a Management Consultant, he was deeply involved in providing expert objective advice, expertise and specialist skills with the aim of creating value, maximizing growth or improving the business performance of his clients. He was primarily concerned with the strategy, structure, management and operations of an organization.
