Economics of Efficiency in Vegetable Business
System of Mahakoshal Region in
Madhya Pradesh |
|
India is the largest producer of vegetables
in the world after China. In Indian condition, vegetables are
consumed in the form of fresh as well as cooked form. These
vegetables are also consumed in the preserved form. As per the
socio-economic norms of the Indian society, the trey of meal is
considered incomplete if, it does not contain the dishes made up of
fresh, cooked or preserved vegetables. Looking at this fact, it may
be considered that vegetables play an important role in the life
system of the Indian society. In other words, we can say that
vegetables are playing an important role in Indian food habitat as
well as the socio-economic life of the society/country. This gains
more weightage when it becomes the second largest vegetable producer
economy in the world.Vegetable crops provide a better opportunity to
farmers for diversification of their farming scenario. This sector
performs like the other sectors of Agriculture business like
livestock, fishery, poultry etc and helps in improving the
productivity of the land by generating employment, improving
socio-economic status of the farmers and overall providing
nutritional security to the family members as well as other people.
Vegetable crops are important human food at all levels of
development. Their role in popular diet, especially where rice and
curry or chili dishes predominate, may well be underestimated, even
if they do not figure largely in recorded market supplies. |

Attitude of People in Coimbatore City towards Multinational
Corporations
|
|
Multinational Corporations (MNCs) are
primary actors on the world scene. Multinational Corporations view
the world, not any given nation, as the arena for their actions.
MNCs produce and export goods, they exploit and import natural
resources and transfer intermediate goods and partially assembled
components. The economic dominance of the multinationals is
manifested by the fact that the MNCs control between a quarter and a
third of all world production and the local sales of their foreign
affiliates is about the same as the Gross National Product (GNP) of
all developing countries excluding oil - exporting developing
countries.Large
and small, rich and poor nations welcome positive and productive
actions by multinational corporations operating within their
territories. In order to make use of the available resources in the
most efficient manner, generate employment opportunities; reducing
the trade balances and increasing the exports from India and also to
encourage the inflow of foreign investments, India has also been
permuting the functioning of the MNCs in India. Moreover, the MNCs
realize that India is the biggest market for their products and they
have been showing their interest towards the entry into India.
Hence, this study examines the attitude of people in Coimbatore
district towards the MNCs. |

Strategic Alliances:
For Competition and Co-operation |
|
Five year
plans and other special development programs have had a positive
impact on rural economy of India. Today, rural markets offer a vast
untapped potential. Development programs in the fields of
agriculture and allied activities, health, education, communication,
rural electrification, etc have improved the life styles of rural
population and a day may be imminent by which the quantum of rural
demand may outweigh urban demand.To
successfully exploit the potential of rural markets, and not to find
but to make a rural market, there is a need to understand the
vectors of rural markets not only in terms of households and
population but also their occupational pattern, income generation,
marketing arrangements for agricultural produce, the process of
rural and cottage industrialization, communication facilities, rural
buyer behavior, attitudes and beliefs of rural people and their
aspirations.

Women
constitute half the population of the world. But in many parts of
the world, they seem to be underpowered. Relative to men, they are
relegated to secondary position, be it in the household, society in
general, and workplace or in governance. It is this perceived gender
inequality and the urge to remove it and 'empower' women that have
constituted the motive force for the formation of Self Help Groups (SHGs).
Self
Help Group can be defined as a 'Voluntary Association' of the poor
with a common goal of social and economic empowerment. The purpose
behind the formation of Self-Help Groups may be to pool in the
resources of members to meet their needs. Groups should be
homogenous and democratically functioning. The habit of thrift and
contributing to common funds mobilized to mitigate the urgent needs
of the members and ensuring prompt recovery is required for better
functioning of (SHGs). |

Buying Behaviour of Consumers Towards The
Products Produced By SSM Units
|
|
Every producer,
either of SSI unit or Big-unit manufactures products for sale .In
order to capture the market for their product, the producer has to
take efforts to attract the consumers towards their products.
Moreover, to attract the consumer, it is essential to understand the
buying behavior of the consumer, his requirements, expectations, and
satisfaction and apply adequate marketing strategies accordingly.SSI
units generally manufacture consumable products or consumable
durable products. Generally such products includes- milk and milk
products, bread, papad, potato chips, farsaan, honey, pickles,
chilly powder, spices, detergent soaps, powder, paints, sanitary
cleaning products, plastic products like - pipes, fixtures, water
tanks, nylon ropes etc., steel furniture, electrical products like -
bulbs, chokes, wires etc. Big companies on mass scale production,
maintaining their quality standard, also manufacture all these
products. |

Developing
Managerial Skill For Profitable Farming Business
|
|
Traditionally,
Indian farmers relied upon human and animal operated equipment for
agricultural production and for processing activities. But with the
introduction of tractors and agricultural equipment, there has been
a spectacular rise in agriculture production. Therefore,
agricultural implements and machines have been considered the most
important input for increasing the productivity and production.
Under the present scenario of globalization and competitiveness, we
have to reduce the cost of cultivation and increase the
profitability. This can be possible if we consider Management as a
tool for optimal use of Mechanization Technology for enhancing
profitability of farmers. |

Changing
Scenario of Purchasing Pattern and The Utilization of Department
Stores
|
|
Purchasing is an art, and those who lack in it
are likely to get a lot of confusion during the time of purchase and
during making purchase decisions. Department stores make shopping
attractive and agreeable. The service providers at department stores
may station at strategic points and attenders may guide the
customers to the concerned departments. Trained salesmen, who are
courteous and tactful and who can convince the consumers may be
employed. Recreation facilities in the form of music programmes,
movie pictures, magic shows etc., may also be arranged A lounge, a
restaurant, an Ice-cream parlour, reading and writing rooms,
Telephone booths, beauty clinics, a nursery to care for small
children, lectures, demonstrations, free classes in Ikebana and
other arts (arts and handicraft}, fashion shows, exhibitions may
also be arranged. These facilities and services go to create a
"home image" for the department store concerned. They can
also allow credit, take orders on telephone, offer home delivery,
and provide gift-wrapping, exchange of unsatisfactory goods and
refunding of money in case of dissatisfaction.

A Study About The Performance of Tuticorin Port
Trust
|
|
Ports are the
arterial nodes of a country's industrial and economic development.
They serve as the hub of the transport system, designed to
facilitate both, coastal and foreign trade. Indian ports handle more
than 90 percent of the Trade by volume and 70 percent by value.
Ports in India are officially categorized as major ports and minor
ports. A major port is a place where ships can come close to the
wharf and directly load/unload the cargo to the wharf. In a minor
port, a cargo would be handled at the anchorage only by engaging
liters/ sailing boats. India has 13 major ports and 131 minor ports
(of which 14B are operational), for India's coastline stretches to
nearly 5,500 km.Tuticorin
has been a center for maritime trade and pearl fishery for more than
2000 years. The natural harbor with a rich hinder-land activated (he
development of the port. Tuticorin was declared as a minor anchorage
in 1868, and since then there have been various developments over
the years. The Government of India declared Tuticorin port as the
10th Indian major port on 11th July1974. It plays a significant role
in the import from and exports of goods to foreign countries. |
