Blog
Marketing- An Emerging Promotional Strategy |
|
Whether it is raising the voice against the invasion of Iraq by United States or helping the victims of the Tsunami, blogs have changed the way of information flow. Blogs have emerged as a medium for the common man to raise his voice, to make his presence felt and to speak out. It is not the corporations who are behind the blogs but it is the common man all over the world who would have otherwise gone unnoticed, who is actively writing and reading the blogs. Though the blog revolution is still in its evolutionary stage, it has opened an avenue for people to express themselves on issues they feel concerned about. If one randomly looks at the authors of these blogs one will be surprised to see housewives, students, authors, actors all writing on one topic or the other. |

Related Marketing: An Incitement Strategy |

The changes in the environment have
necessitated the need to review the present business philosophy. Companies have incorporated social goals as a part of their mission statement. Corporate involvement in social well - being began as voluntary responses to social issues and problems, then evolved into a phase of mandated corporate involvement and is now evolving in to a phase in which social responsibility is viewed as an investment by corporations. Corporations are beginning to realise that, for their survival and competitive advantage, they must evolve from doing good to doing better. Therefore, social responsibility is treated as an investment that improves the long - term performance of the organisation.1 Socially responsible practices have resulted in a favourable image and ultimately in increased sales. Organisations identified the need to bring a trade off between economical motives and social values. |

The average production of mango is 4.2 MMTs in Uttar Pradesh and 3.2 MMTs in Andhra Pradesh, and produces the largest number of commercial varieties. In Andhra Pradesh, Chittoor ranks first next to followed by Krishna district in terms of both area and production. Of the total 3.2 MMTs, Krishna accounts for 0.93 MMTs against 0.78 MMTs of Chittoor district. While domestic consumption of mango has been progressively increasing but the performance is depleted in export front. However, as there is large untapped export potentiality and increase in demand at the international market, there is an urgent need for the expansion of production as well as exports. The mango processing industry has been also expanding rapidly. The present study identified three important aspects related to mango production. First, mango production witnesses fluctuations in output due to alternative bearing. Second, prices are highly volatile due to production fluctuations and third inadequate expansion of area under mango cultivation.

Marketing in Pondicherry: A Study of Marketing Costs and Margin |
|
Marketing plays a very important role in economic development as it stimulates production, avoids unnecessary fluctuations in output and prices and reduces costs of production. However, for these benefits to occur marketing system and marketing technology have to keep pace with the production technology and socio economic development of the country. The experience of many countries suggests that in the absence of an efficient marketing system any strategy for agricultural development cannot go very far to stimulate production.
