Abstract
‘Recollections of an Indian Geologists’ is an autobiography by Dr. B. Rama Rao, who had served for 33 years in the Mysore Geology Department and head the organisation for 13 years. The book comprises twenty one chapters of pulsating experiences and faithful record of his childhood, school and college days; his struggles to get a suitable entry into state service; and his experiences in fields, floods, and forest. Rama Rao’s ‘Recollections’ is an inspiring life story of an Indian Geologist which every young Indian geologist should read. It will be equally interesting to geologists of other continents who are interested in knowing the history of geology in Southern India. The book might not fail to appeal to others as well.
